Rather than e mail it to 20 people I thought I’d see what reaction I get here!

Makes one stop and think after reading this :
Michael Richards is better known as Kramer from tv’s Seinfeld series.

This was his defence speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act.
He makes some very interesting points. He said :
I’m proud To Be White.
Someone finally said it..
How many are actually paying attention to this ?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You Call me ‘White boy,’ ‘Cracker,’ ‘Honkey,’
‘Whitey,’ ‘Caveman’ … and that’s OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head,
Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner , Gook, or Chink ….
You ca ll me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you,
so why are the ghettos the most dangerous plac es to live ?

You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah.
You have Ma’uled Al-Nabi…
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) we’d be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month , we’d be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to ‘advance’OUR lives we’d be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that ?

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant,
but any color can be in the Miss America pageant. If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships you know we’d be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US . Yet if there were ‘White colleges’, that would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights,
you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.

But , when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or
beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a
threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud.
But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists ?

There is nothing improper about this e-mail.

  1. I read what you wrote and all I can do is laugh. You are blind and naive my friend (and I don’t mean that literally–because we could never be friends). Everyday there’s a white parade. I can’t walk down the street without seeing your pale faces painted up like clowns. Every month is white history month. We learn about you in school, on tv, on the radio. GOD enough already. Everything is always about you guys. Yes we have BET, but every channel after that is yours. We may get a show here and there but that’s it. The Hills, Gossip girl, 90210, Super Nanny, hell you even have the Tyra Banks show.

    OH and not every black man that’s been beat up by the cops has been a drug dealer. Why is that every black man walking down the street is a potential drug dealer to you guys? That’s funny because drugs were brought into this country almost 60 years ago by white men. During the vietnam war, the military (white men) were feeding their soldiers courage in the form of heroin and opium. But we (African Americans) are responsible for the drug addictions in this country.

    OH and let’s not forget about the past 100 years when it was All about WHITEY. Come on man. You guys were parading about this land as though you thought of it and then put it together. REALLY! Have we forgotten that the first settlers in this country did not have british accents or corn-colored hair or the infamous blue eyes. So it confuses me to hear whites tell someone to go back to where they came from. Why don’t you guys do the same.

    Millions of whites walk the streets of America everyday and people like me are forced to see you, smell you, and hear your annoying Bert and Ernie voices. Plus you have the audacity to play our music, dress like us, act like us, speak our slang?! Baffling, that’s what it is. Oh and you try to be polite by asking if you can use the word Nigger. Why ask now, you’ve been using the word so freely before. Now you wanna play nice?

    Oh and one more gripe that I must vent…The Grammys. Everyone knows that’s for you guys. In order for us to get a nomination or god forbid an award, we have to fuck one of you guys. How fair is that? Or how fair is that for years you guys have been raping our women, so that now we’re starting to look like you guys. It’s disgusting! Everytime I see a mixed person, I feel sick to my stomach because I know somewhere along the way a black woman was raped by a white man. Yes, I said raped. I know you guys think that we are so violent, but must I remind you of Bundy, Gacy, Dahmer, and all the other sick and twisted whites that practice sodomy, child molestation and cannibalism.

    With all of that said, I don’t consider you a racist just because you can’t stand me or because you don’t like the fact that I have a couple of shows or programs geared towards me. I just think that you’re like me. I hate you. I don’t even know you, but I know you’re white and because of that I DESPISE YOU. So if I where to call you a racist, then I would have to call myself that as well and I hate that word.

  2. Wow, that’s some reaction! I think that you must have misread the start of the piece. It’s not written by me, I’m not blind and naive, I was sent it in an e mail and posted it to see what people thought of the views it portrayed.
    I must say I am shocked by your reply though, you say that I can’t ’stand you’ and that you ‘hate me’ and you despise me just because you think I am white (I am as it happens). How can I not stand you when I don’t even know you?
    I must say reading your comments you seem very racist and yet having looked at your Myspace page you seem very pleasant. You seem very angry and bitter, I’m sorry to see that.

  3. I am mixed-race. My mother wasn’t raped. Horrible to think that people look at me and feel sick to their stomach because of my colour. I’ve always been proud of it. To me it represents that ideal world of equality, where we are free to love who we will, where we are all brothers and sisters.

    Horrible to think that people look at the children of my black friend from Africa and his white English wife and feel sick to their stomach. Just loveable, lively, sometimes naughty children. He didn’t rape her either.

    • Lou, I couldn’t agree more. I would say that most people don’t see someone of mixed race and think that their mother was raped thiough!
